Your pet could be featured in our Humane Society of Ventura County 2025 Calendar! Get ready, you can enter your pet for a chance to win some amazing prizes, all while supporting HSVC’s vital programs and services!
Each photo entry is $25 and votes are a minimum of $1 per vote. To be eligible for the photo contest, each entry needs to receive a minimum of $5 (5 votes) or more. Submit your pet today for a chance to be featured in our calendar. All entrants will receive a 2025 calendar by mail in the Fall of 2024.
We have three categories to choose from: Cats, Dogs, and Other Pets. First place (includes Grand Prize Winner), second-place, and third-place winners in each category will receive a month spread in the 2025 HSVC Calendar. The remaining three-month spreads will be chosen by our esteemed panel of judges.

- Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from HSVC or live in Ventura County to be eligible to enter the contest
- Photos of all lawful cats, dogs, horses, small mammals, reptiles and birds are accepted
- Photos may contain more than one pet
- Photos must only contain domestic animals (no wildlife or people)
- Photos must receive a minimum of 5 votes to be included in the photo contest, judged by our panel of judges.
- The entry fee is $25 per photo, and you may enter as many times as you would like
- Photos need to be high-res (300 dpi) to be eligible to win a month spread
- Photos need to be in color
- Heavily edited photos or filtered photos are not eligible to win
- Photos with a watermark from a professional photographer will not be eligible to be included in the calendar
- HSVC can not accept any copyrighted photos
- Photos deemed offensive, indecent or obscene will be removed from the contest
- All online photo entries must be submitted by 5:00:00 PM (Pacific Time) on Friday, September 20, 2024
- All mailed or hand delivered entries must be submitted by 4 pm PST September 8, 2024
- Mailed or hand delivered entries will not be returned to the owner, unless they provide a self-addressed and postage paid return envelope, at time of turning entry in
- Prizes are not transferable and may not be redeemed for cash
- All submitted photos become the property of the Humane Society of Ventura County
Once entered, photos become the property of HSVC which may, at its discretion, copy, edit, publish, or modify entries for use in any and all media, without limitation or compensation to the photographer or the individuals and pets appearing in the photo. The submitter of the photo does relinquish rights to use the photo.
