Canberra Paws 2025 Calendar Contest

Ina J Photography, is happy to announce the annual Canberra Paws Pet calendar contest for the 2025 Calendar supporting ACT Pet Crisis Support. For the last 4 years we have nearly raised $45,160 for the ACT Pet Crisis Support. Last year we raised just over $9,000 for ACT Pet Crisis Support and this year we want to reach a goal of $15,000.

Proceeds from the sale of the calendar and photo contest will assist ACT Pet Crisis Support with helping disadvantaged pet owners keep their pets healthy by contributing towards medical bills that would otherwise result in euthanasia and towards the new mobile Vet Clinic. The mobile, low-cost vet clinic will be available for pensioners and low-income earners to ensure pets can receive veterinary care no matter the financial situation of their family. All donations go directly towards medical bills helping those pets in need.

Please review the Contest Rules carefully for submission guidelines; those that do not follow these rules will not be eligible to win. Fees for photo entries and votes will help ACT Pet Crisis Support continue their efforts with ensuring that all pets in need owned by disadvantaged, low income pet owners in the ACT and local region have access to veterinary care.

Prizes:

The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 13 entrants that get the most votes. The grand prize winner (the pet with the highest votes) will win the coveted cover photo for the Canberra Paws 2025 calendar! 2nd - 13th place winners will have their pet featured as a pet of the month in the calendar.

Mini Contest Prizes

During the 6 weeks of the calendar contest there will be mini contests and a prize each week. One pet with the highest number of new votes for a particular week will win a mini contest prize from one of the supporting businesses. Each week there are prizes to be won with a value from $50 to $100. Prizes will be announced each week.

Reserve a Special Spot in The Calendar For Your Pet:

Why not honour your pet or celebrate their birthday or gotcha-day by reserving an empty grid space (before or after the dated squares) for their photo. Choose a favourite photo, a month, and pay. Each month has a limited number of squares in each grid and will be filled on a first come, first served basis; so get in early! Each grid space is just $10.

Business Sponsor Pages - Feature your business in the Canberra Paws

Would you like to feature your business in the Canberra Paws Calendar? This year we are introducing extra pages to promote local Canberra businesses. If you would like your businesses to be featured there are 3 levels depending on how big your feature is in the calendar. We will be taking applications first and once your confirmed, an invoice will be sent to you - 50% of your sponsor fee will be donated to ACT Pet Crisis Support and the reminder will go towards the cost of printing the calendars and designing your feature page. You will be responsible to provide information and graphics for your feature pages.

Bronze - 1/4 page - $50
Silver 1/2 page - $100
Gold - Full page of calendar - $200

Contest Rules

Entries

Each entry is a $5 fee.
All breeds are welcome to enter.
Limit of TWO pets per photo entry. People are not allowed in photos, only your pet. Photos that do not follow these rules will not be eligible to win with no opportunity for a refund.
Entry photos that include two pets will share a month if they place among the top 13 vote getters
All photos must be uploaded; we cannot accept printed photos. We cannot accept any copyrighted or professional photos taken by other photographers.
The Submissions Period starts at 8:00:00 AM (AUS Eastern Time) on Monday, 20 May 2024 and ends at 11:59:59 PM (AUS Eastern Time) on Sunday, 30 June 2024.
Any photograph that includes content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent, or obscene, as determined by Ina J Photography in their sole discretion, will be removed from the contest with no opportunity for a refund.
Posting more than one photo of your pet does not increase the chances of winning. The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 13 entries that receive the most votes. The same pet can only win once. Attempts to win two spots in the calendar by the same pet will not be permitted.

Voting

Votes are $1
Each $1 donation counts as one (1) vote.
All donations from voting are non-refundable. Entries and donations must be made via the online contest page. Contest payments online are through a secure site.
All winners will be determined by electronic vote tabulations under the supervision of GoGo Photo Contest, whose decisions are final and binding.
The Voting Period starts at 8:00:00 AM (AUS Eastern Time) on Monday, 20 May 2024 and ends at 11:59:59 PM (AUS Eastern Time) on Sunday, 30 June 2024.

Calendar Photo Session

The top 13 vote getters will win a professional on-location pet photography session (20 min) by Ina J Photography scheduled throughout July to October 2025 on pre-determined dates at pre-determined locations throughout the Canberra area. If you are unable to commit to a photo session during those times or find yourself unable to travel to the pre-selected location, you forfeit your winning and the next top vote getter will take your pet's spot in the calendar, no exceptions.
The top voted recipient will win the coveted cover photo for the 2025 calendar. The following 12 recipients with the most votes will be eligible to have their pet featured as a pet of the month for each month in the year. View more details on the Prizes page.
The photographer, Ina J Photography, will choose the best image of the pets to be used in the calendar as well as which month that image will appear.
Winners must attend a consultation appointment and an ordering appointment to view their photos in order to be in the calendar.
Winners can upgrade to a full session which includes a $250 print credit for an additional $100.
At the ordering appointment you will have the opportunity to order prints and artwork after the session.

Weekly Mini-Contests

The pet receiving the highest number of new votes each week over the course of the contest will win a mini-contest prize from one of the participating businesses.
In the event of a tie, a random computerised draw will be held between the highest vote getters of the week to determine that week's winner.
In the event that there are no new votes for that week, a random computerized draw will be held for all eligible pets.
Winners will be announced on Ina J Photography's Facebook page and Instagram and will be provided with the business contact details via email and are responsible of contacting the business to collect/claim their prize.
Certain individual business restrictions and limitations may apply and may vary by business. Ina J Photography is not responsible for these restrictions and eligibility requirements as determined by each business.

The Fine Print

By submitting a photo entry, you warrant and represent that your entry is your own original work created by you and that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to your entry materials. If you submit an entry that is copyrighted by another individual, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you.
No digital files, prints or products are included in the prize for the top 13 highest vote getters unless otherwise specified in the Prizes page. You'll have the opportunity to order prints and artwork after your session. Ina J Photography's artwork is available to view here.
Calendars will be available for distribution starting from December 2024.
By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless ACT Pet Crisis Support and Ina J Photography and each of their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claims of any nature arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.
All entry fee and votes donation made on the Go Go Photo Contest platform goes directly to ACT Pet Crisis Support.
