To be eligible, The "Man of the Desert" must reside in our Coachella Valley, either full-time or part-time. Each candidate must be 18 years or older. Employees and Board Members of Animal Samaritans are not eligible to win. The submitted photo must be a non-photo shopped picture of the candidate. Photos including his (or a) dog, cat or other pet are encouraged. Photos must include the candidate's name, age, occupation, a working phone number and email address. Only online submissions will be accepted, and each eligible submission will be placed online for all to view.
The Top 3 Vote Getters will be "Man of the Desert" Finalists. Prior to the event,
Palm Springs Life Magazine will select one winner among the 3 finalists as the 2017 "Man of the Desert." Judging for the Man of the Desert winner will be based upon a brief interview, animal affiliations, and appearance. All finalists must be available for interview prior to the event to be considered for the "2017 Man of the Desert" award.
All finalists will be acknowledged at the Men of the Desert Fashion Show on December 3, 2017 at the Agua Caliente Resort & Spa. Shy finalists can elect not be appear in the fashion show, however they will not be eligible to win.
