We have a winner! Congratulations to Bella, an agility-loving beauty living in CA, for her 1st place win in the Setter Snapshots photo contest. The top 13 vote-getters that will be included in the 2015 SWESR calendar can be viewed on the “Leader Board” found near the bottom of this page.  Thanks to the amazing generosity from so many friends and followers, we’re thrilled that the photo contest raised $7885 in donations. The proceeds will be used solely to off-set the medical expenses of our rescue dogs. Southwest English Setter Rescue (SWESR) is holding our first online photo contest to raise money to help support our efforts to rescue and rehome English Setters at risk throughout the Southwestern USA. The photographs that receive the most votes during the contest will be awarded GREAT prizes, and the top 13 vote-getters will be featured on our SWESR 2015 Calendar.

We encourage you to enter the contest with your favorite photo of your English Setter and a few words about your dog. Then invite your family and friends to vote for your photo! The contest is open to anyone and you may enter your photo for FREE. Your photo entry does not have to be of an English Setter rescue dog. We welcome photos of all English Setters - beautiful and regal, silly and goofy, naughty and nice, rough and tumble, indoor snuggle bunnies and outdoor adventurers.

Voting is easy and fun and open to everyone. Votes are $1 each. Each dollar donated equals an equivalent number of votes. (A $5 donation equals 5 votes, a $10 donation equals 10 votes, etc.) A minimum donation of $5 is required. Proceeds will benefit Southwest English Setter Rescue and fund the medical expenses of our rescue dogs. SWESR is a designated 501(c)(3) charity, making all donations toward voting in the contest tax deductible. You can vote as often as you like during the contest. You can apply all your votes to one photo or vote for multiple photos during the contest.

For the best chance to win, be sure to spread the word about your dog's entry into the contest. Ask family and friends to go online and VOTE, VOTE, VOTE for your photo. You can use the sharing buttons that appear on your dog's photo page to share your photo entry with your Facebook friends and Twitter followers. And you can email links to family and friends to encourage voting for your dog's photo. This will help you receive the votes for your photo(s) while helping us raise donations to support Southwest English Setter Rescue!

Don't have an English Setter or a favorite photo of your Setter to submit? No worries, you can participate AND support SWESR by browsing the amazing photos and stories of English Setters, picking your favorites and VOTE, VOTE, VOTE. Check back often, photos will be added throughout the contest. What a great way to start your day on a happy note, looking at pictures of English Setters and voting to support English Setter rescue!

Contest begins May 9th, 2014 at 8:00 am (CDT) and runs through June 8th, 2014 at 10:00 pm (CDT).

The top vote recipient will be featured on the calendar cover photo of the Southwest English Setter Rescue (SWESR) 2015 calendar AND will also receive:

• a 20 x 20 pet portrait painted in acrylic on canvas.  This custom painting by Clarione Gutierrez will be created using several photos of your dog to capture his/her beauty and personality.  The value of this prize is $600.

The next 12 entries with the highest number of votes will have their photo featured as a full-page pet-of-the month in the SWESR 2015 calendar AND will also receive:

We will be offering additional prizes for the Judges' Choice photo, which gives the opportunity for any entry to win, regardless of how many votes received. The Judges' Choice winner will receive:

All entries that receive more than 100 votes will receive a free SWESR 2015 Calendar.
