Fur On My Shirt Pet Photography is excited to launch its inaugural calendar contest for 2025. This year the proceeds from this event will help the
Mississippi Animal Rescue League in their mission to care for and shelter lost and unwanted animals. The funds will be used to find loving homes for these animals, support responsible pet ownership programs, and advocate for animals who cannot speak for themselves. This vital work is made possible by the generous support from community donations and fundraising efforts.
We invite you to submit your favorite pet photos and encourage your friends and family to vote.
Please adhere to the Contest Rules for submissions; entries not complying with these rules will be disqualified. Entry and voting fees will help the Mississippi Animal Rescue League continue to provide medical care and shelter for lost and unwanted animals, support finding homes for these animals, educating the community on responsible pet ownership, and advocating for animal welfare.
Grand Prize
The photo contest winners will be the top 13 entrants receiving the most votes. The first-place winner will be featured on the 2025 calendar cover, while those in 2nd to 13th place will have their pets showcased as pets of the month. These top 13 pets will be professionally photographed by Fur On My Shirt Photography for the calendar.

About Mississippi Animal Rescue League
The Mississippi Animal Rescue League (MARL) is a leading nonprofit organization, chartered in 1969 and recognized as a 501(c)3 entity, devoted to combating animal cruelty. As Central Mississippi's foremost comprehensive animal welfare service provider, MARL tirelessly cares for countless homeless and neglected animals annually without any state or federal operating funds.
Our commitment extends beyond animal care. When you join hands with MARL – through donations, volunteering, or advocacy – you champion not just a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, and burros, but also support the community we serve. We stand as the unwavering voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.
MARL operates as an “open admission” shelter, welcoming every animal in need, in stark contrast to other “limited admission” shelters in the region. We are dedicated to rehoming all animals in our care, facing the challenges of animal overpopulation head-on. Despite accepting an average of 50-60 animals daily, with numbers rising in spring and summer, we strive to provide humane care and loving homes for each one. This commitment puts us at the frontline of addressing the difficult reality of more animals than available homes, a testament to our unwavering dedication to animal welfare.
