When we first were thinking about a dog, we pictured getting a golden retriever. During my search we came across Yankee, and it just felt right! A way to both get a golden and a rescue, win-win! Little would I have known that Walter, a small mixed dog that is definitely not a golden, would have stolen our hearts. Walter immediately cuddled into our arms belly up, and we knew he was coming home with us. Walter has been such a joy, he is smart, savvy, and so friendly! When he wants a treat he will do a “sit, lie down, roll-over” combination in hopes that one of those will win him a treat. Walter has filled our home with love and we feel so lucky to have him.
