The top 12 vote-getters will be featured as a Horse of the Month model in the 2026 Wiregrass Horse Rescue & Sanctuary Calendar.

Just want a guaranteed spot in the calendar? Reserve a day to honor your horse, cat, dog, or any farm animal. (Yes! We want to fill the calendar with not only horses but your other special pets!) This can be for your pet's adoption anniversary, birthday, loved one's birthday, memorial or really any special day! Your pet's photo will appear on the day of your choice. Just choose your favorite photo and then choose the day and pay! First come first served! Once a date has been reserved, it will no longer be available.

Rules
What does it cost to enter?
The contest entry fee is $5 per photo.
You are welcome to make an additional donation during the entry process, with each dollar counting as one vote. All proceeds from contest entries and votes will help us provide shelter and lifesaving care for the abused and neglected horses at Wiregrass Horse Rescue & Sanctuary.
How many photos can I enter?
You can enter as many pet photos as you wish! Each photo entry is $5.
How do I vote for a pet's picture?
Votes are $1 each.
You can also vote for your own pet's photo as many times as you and your friends and family wish! All proceeds from contest entries and votes will help us provide shelter and lifesaving care for the abused and neglected horses at Wiregrass Horse Rescue & Sanctuary.
When does voting close?
Voting closes at 5:00:00 PM (Central Time) on Friday, August 1, 2025. Remember that your clock may differ slightly from the clock that determines the official end time, so we recommend submitting your final votes with at least 5-10 minutes to spare.
How do I know if I won?
You can regularly check the leaderboards to see your horse’s vote tally. Results will be posted immediately after voting ends.
When will I get my calendar?
We will mail the 2026 calendars in November 2025.
Wiregrass Horse Rescue & Sanctuary, a Charitable 501(c)(3), was founded in 2013 after many years of rescue work. Since the beginning, we have rescued or assisted with over 250 livestock rescues in and around Alabama. We are 100% operated by volunteers which means that 100% of your donation goes DIRECTLY to the animals in our care. We have 65 acres of land, with approximately 25 pastured. We currently have a medical barn with 4 stalls, run in sheds in each of our pastures, and a covered arena.
What do we do? We work directly with local sheriff departments in livestock abuse and neglect cases. We provide this service for free; we do not get any government or federal funding. What does that mean? Our entire staff includes wonderful volunteers that take care of the rehab process, we have all animals vetted, and once they are cleared by our vet, they are placed for adoption.
