It's the most wonderful time of the year — the annual TXHR calendar contest for 2025!
Time to share pictures of your huskies living their best lives — whether it's winter huskies in the snow, summer huskies on pool floats, or husky adventures around the globe! If you have a husky, we want YOU to share your dog with the world. Don't have a TXHR alum husky, NO WORRIES!! This year we are looking for ANY AWESOME HUSKY or HUSKY MIX for our calendar! Here’s your chance to do a little bragging, while helping support our mission to #savemorehuskies. Your $5 nomination fee, gives you the first FIVE votes for your canine supermodel.
Pick your favorite shot of your special fur-iend. Winners will be recognized as the top 10 fundraisers, with three additional picks from an impartial judge.
This year, photos will be previewed and approved for contest before voting is enabled.
People can vote as often as they like, votes will displayed on the contest site once approved. Remember — vote early, vote often. Share on your social media to encourage friends and families to vote as well.
Gotcha Days
We have Gotcha Days for $15/calendar spot! If you'd like to have your dog's photo on their special "Gotcha Day", you may submit their photo with a $15 donation and they are IN! All their friends at the dogpark will be jealous!

There are so many wonderful huskies who could win a spot on our calendar this year! But If you have a rainbow bridge sweetie you would like to enter, we will happily accept your entry, but please understand they will not be eligible to win the cover, only a monthly header.
The TOP TEN photos with the most votes will be featured in our 2025 12-month Calendar as a “Husky of the Month”.
Among the entries, THREE (3) photos will be chosen by an impartial judge for favorite categories, ensuring there are bluebonnet or holiday pictures, etc.
If you submit more than one photo of the SAME dog, only the TOP fundraising photo will be selected for inclusion in the 2025 calendar.
GRAND PRIZE WINNER, top TEN fundraisers, and THREE judges' choice winners will each receive one FREE calendar.
Weekly Winners (2):
During the weeks of Sept 6 – 13, and September 13-20, the entry each week that receives the highest number of new votes for that particular week will win a terrific MYSTERY PRIZE!
- In the event of a tie for or if there are no new votes for a given week, a random computerized drawing will be held for all eligible entries.
- No entry can win a mini-contest more than once. The winner for each week will be selected from those entries that have not previously won the mini-contest.
Texas Husky Rescue (TXHR) is a qualified non-profit 501(c)3 organization to rescue, rehabilitate and find qualified, loving homes for neglected, abused, and unwanted huskies and husky/mixes throughout Texas and across the U.S.
We rely on fosters to accept dogs in their homes, socialize them, and prepare them for their forever families. TXHR have saved over 2,600 huskies since our inception in 2009.
There are currently more than 45 dogs available, many based in Dallas, where TXHR originated. The mission of TXHR Inc. is supported by tax-deductible contributions of individuals, corporations, fundraisers, and grants.
Entries will be approved before posting to contest site and available for voting. In order to ensure your entry meets our guidelines, please follow these instructions!
- Entries submitted for calendar header consideration MUST be horizontal orientation; entries MUST measure 5" x 7" physical size at 300 DPI to be considered for publication. They must pass this rule in order to be eligible for voting. We reserve to disqualify any photo that does not meet this standard.
- File formats for ALL ENTRY submissions: .jpg, .tif .pdf, .eps files ONLY NO PNG FILES MAY BE SUBMITTED. | Color or B/W
- Please show your dog's BEST side — Majestic profile, goofiest smile, most relaxing nap....no butt shots, or private parts, please! Also, please DO NOT CROP your images, send us the FULL image as is, so we have as much to work with as possible.
- Entry submissions upload must include:
- Name of Dog | Adoption date (month/year) | Current Hometown | short blurb about your dog
- GRAND PRIZE WINNER COVER PHOTO - To be considered for our Coveted Cover dog, photo submitted MUST be high res, 8 x 10 and horizontal orientation. GRAND PRIZE WINNER has the option of being the Calendar Cover dog, or one of the monthly dogs. There are so many wonderful huskies who could win a spot on our calendar this year! But If you have a rainbow bridge sweetie you would like to enter, we will happily accept your entry, but please understand they will not be eligible to win the cover, only a monthly header.
- IF you’d like to be assured your dog makes it into the calendar on their special day, you may submit their photo under the GOTCHA DAY category for a donation of $15. Photos submitted MUST be vertical orientation; and MUST measure 2" x 3" physical size at 300 DPI .
- If you submit more than one photo of a single pet, only the TOP fundraising photo will be selected for inclusion in the 2025 calendar.
- Email address submitted with entry will be added to our newsletter database
In the event of a tie for one of the monthly headers the picture submitted with the earliest contest date submission will win the tie.
PHOTO RESTRICTIONS
- Only photos of HUSKIES and HUSKY MIX pups are accepted, your photo may contain more than one HUSKY (alum or non-alum) this is a huskies ONLY club, NO HUMANS ALLOWED!
- ALL PHOTOS MUST BE SUBMITTED THROUGH THE CONTEST WEBSITE
- NO PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS — Tell the PUP-arazzi to stay home! Photos must be taken by you, friends or family. We cannot accept photos with digital overlays, photo stickers or doodles, or any copyrighted material
- Photos must be high resolution. Generally, photos taken with older mobile phones are not high enough resolution. YOU CANNOT SUBMIT SCREEN CAPTURES, they will be disqualified.
- Once entered, photos become the property of TEXAS HUSKY RESCUE and may be used for print and marketing purposes
TIPS ON PHOTO ENTRIES
We thought we might offer some advise on the types of photos that make great entries. Here at Texas Husky Rescue we know how much personality these pups have, so show it off!!!
We want to see your doggo's terrific FACE, either full on or in profile. Avoid submitting photos where the animals are completely looking away from the camera.
If you are showing us your pack make sure they are grouped closely together for the best composition.
We LOVE to see your pups outside enjoying nature, anything showing the seasons, weather, water, mud, you name it!
Photos of your pup don't have to be outside, but if they are inside shots, please be aware of what's around them.
