Rules
- $25 donation photo entry fee, each entry gets one free 2026 SPCA Monterey County calendar. Entrants will receive their calendars in the mail by late November 2025. Just in time for the Holiday Season!
- Photos should be horizontal (landscape, not portrait)
- The contest is open to pets of all species.
- Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from SPCA Monterey County to be eligible to enter this contest.
- Multiple pets may be included in one photo.
- No people - photos must feature companion animals only.
- Deceased pets may be entered into the photo contest; however, they are not eligible to win the calendar cover.
- All photos must be in color- no black-and-white photos.
- We cannot accept photos with digital overlays, photo stickers, doodles, or any copyrighted or professional photos.
- Computer-generated images will not be accepted.
- Dogs and cats wearing collars/ID tags and cats photographed indoors will receive the best possible consideration.
- Once entered, photos may be used by SPCA Monterey County for print and marketing purposes.
- Online entries must be submitted before July 31, 2025, at 3:00 PM PST.
- Mail-in or in-person entries must be received by 3:00 PM PST on July 30, 2025, at SPCA Monterey County, 1002 Monterey-Salinas Hwy, Salinas, CA 93908. Photos will not be returned.
PHOTO SELECTION
- Digital photos are recommended. Photos must be high resolution. Ensure all cell phone photos are taken at their highest resolution.
- All photos submitted will be considered for month winner photos, regardless of the number of votes. All other photos will be placed throughout the calendar.

VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITES
Encourage your friends and family to vote for your pet’s photo and help support SPCA Monterey County. The top photos with the most votes will win special prizes.
- Votes are $1 each.
- Once a photo is submitted, it will appear in the online gallery on SPCA Monterey County's calendar website and be open to the general public for voting.
- All votes for photo submissions will be tabulated and displayed online.
- To vote:
- Online: click on the Participate tab above.
- The online voting period will end on July 31, 2025, at 3:00 PM PST.
- All votes must be applied to selected photos by the conclusion of the voting period to be counted.
- By Mail: Send votes to P.O. Box 3058 Monterey, CA 93942.
- Votes by mail and phone must be received by the SPCA no later than July 30, 2025, at 3:00 PM PST.
- Please include your full name, address, phone number, the pet names you wish to vote for, and your written request to apply your enclosed donation towards votes for them in the 2026 Photo Fundraiser.
- By Phone: Call 831-264-5431 during business hours to vote with a credit card.
- Donations can be made by check, cash, or credit card.
- The ending time for the Photo Fundraiser will be determined by the host website's server, which will show prominently on the Photo Fundraiser website as a countdown clock on the last day of the fundraiser.
- The photograph with the most votes (donations) at the end of the submission period will win the voting portion of the Photo Fundraiser.
- All votes are donations to SPCA Monterey County and are fully tax-deductible as permitted by law. All donors will receive an emailed receipt for their contributions.
