Pet's Story or Bio
When Sammie’s previous owner moved into a different apartment in Southern California, she had to turn Sammie into a local animal rescue organization. Fortunately, he was placed in foster care. His foster mother loved Cocker Spaniels and Cocker-mixed dogs. Having lost her 11-year-old dog, she decided it was time to add another dog to her family at least on a foster basis. The foster mother had a friend on the Monterey Peninsula, who was looking to adopt a gentle, medium size dog. And so, Sammie came to the Central Coast.

He immediately took to the area’s cooler temperatures, beautiful trails to walk and his new forever home. Every day Sammie would go for walks either on the wooded trails or along the beaches. He loved to look at the waves and watch the birds. The opportunity for him to get out helped him improve physically. Sometimes he got to play with his dog friends. Like all Cocker-mixed dogs, his fur needed to be groomed. He had a regular groomer for his shaggy tan coat. Because of Sammie’s gentle personality, the groomer always said that Sammie made his job easy.

Sammie was loved by many. His calm personality made him a welcome companion, who adapted well around people, dogs and other animals. He was a little gentleman in many ways.
