Pet's Story or Bio
My husband and I adopted Summer from the Monterey County Animal Shelter in July of 2023. I saw a picture of her on the Shelter’s website and instantly fell in love with her. Because I was unable to get to the Shelter for several days after seeing her picture, I was very worried that she would be adopted by another family before I could get there. Fortunately, the stars were aligned in my favor and she was still there when I made it to the Shelter and my husband and I were able to take her home with us. She is a wonderful addition to our family and brings us pleasure every single day.
Summer is just over a year old now and is very playful. She loves to play fetch and is better at it than any dog I have ever had!! We have completely spoiled her and she has practically every cat toy made—but her favorites are those simple little springs. She can spend hours playing with them; either fetching them, or batting and chasing them across the floor. Since we live near the beach, she also likes to spend time watching the seagulls that fly by the windows, growling quietly when they come close.
Like any proud ‘parent’, I have to say that Summer is also very smart. She learned her new name in just a few days, understands the word ‘no’, and comes when we call her name. She is truly a joy and I feel very fortunate to have found her.
