Pet's Story or Bio
Roxie was a feral stray found in an orchard in Bakersfield, CA with her 5 babies. She is about 4 1/2 years old and I adopted her 2 1/2 years ago. She has been the best girl ever. I did DNA testing on her and found out that she is 42% Pitbull, 25% Chihuahua, 14% Miniature Pinscher, 11% Pomeranian and 8 % Super Mutt (Poodle and Daschund). I also found one of her puppies who was adopted and was able to get more of her story from the owners who were part of the original rescue of the puppies. The rescue couldn't catch Roxie initially but went back for her about 6 months later.
She is also dually certified as not only my Medical Service Dog but also as a Therapy Dog. We volunteer at several hospitals, do reading programs at local libraries, see several private patients, and are part of the LAX PUP's program, helping stressed out passengers. She has another handler who takes her out once a week to do therapy visits too. She also still sees her former foster mom a few times a month. We call her handler and her former foster mom her 'bonus moms'. I love that she has so many people who love her!
She's a very spoiled girl and always has a set of her beautiful 'pearls' on! Her collection is well over 100 now and part of her signature look!
