Late one night, my youngest teen spotted Sherman online and it was love at first sight! Presuming my child was searching within the parameters I gave, which included a location no further than 2 hours from Monterey County, I said "Yes!" to applying to adopt him. Within 24 hours, I was committed -- and learned that the rescue site was 6 hours away in San Bernadino County. Two days later, we enjoyed an exciting road trip to rescue Sherman, who was given up at 3 months old because of a heart murmur. He came to us with a tremendous amount of anxiety. We are exceedingly grateful to the SPCA's Behavior Team for helping us improve Sherman's quality of his life. After attending SPCA trainings and regularly frolicking at the large dog socials, he is a much different pup than he was in 2020. Sherman has become confident and curious, and he is sweet, sassy, and a pure joy!
