Pet's Story or Bio
Cat Distribution Origin Story: Mochi was a 9 week old kitten when he was found in the median of Highway 156 in July 2023 by a Caltrans worker. That Caltrans employee is a family member who reached out to us about him and we agreed to help out by "holding him overnight" so that we could take him to the SPCA the next day. Within a few hours we knew he wasn't going anywhere and shortly after he was named Mochi because of his striking resemblance to red bean mochi (Daifuku). Mochi has come a long way since his street days and now thoroughly enjoys the luxuries of the indoor cat life with some supervised outdoor rec time of course! He's a playful, vocal little cuddle bug whose hobbies include sunbathing, solving cat puzzles, bird watching, playing with his two dog siblings (perhaps sometimes terrorizing them) and van life road trips! Rain or shine, Mochi is always up for a trip as long as his litter box is on board and has access to the comfy human bed and/or a window seat and plenty of treats.
