Mandalana was originally adopted from Baldwin Shelter at 2 months but was being returned at 3 months to Carson! Thankfully her new mom was there to intercept because the shelter was not accepting dogs that day so who knows what could have happened. The couple was desperate and she was on the verge of being dumped. Just a puppy! We wanted a big breed puppy for our Benjamin Bear and she was given a musical name thinking the Siberian Huskey in her might “sing.” Which she did her first night, yet within a day, she was HOME! She is regal in looks with Siberian Husky DNA plus German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Australian Cattle Dog, and Doberman highlights. Surprisingly calm at home. She allows the senior “mafia” blind chihuahuas to boss her around. She responds with lovingly licks on their heads. Too cute. Although she displays some “stranger danger” outside of the home, her trainer is working through this with positive coaching! She’s an absolute star in her weekly sessions and she loves her coach. She is incredibly smart! I became a huge fan of Shadow Husky Rescue and we are thrilled to open our heart and home to our first Husky! Sweet Mandalana has been an incredible blessing. She loves us sweetly and protects us fiercely. She’s an all around great addition to our family. Home is where the dogs live, and we love our home with Mandy.
