Phoenix was adopted out of a different rescue about a month before I adopted Athena (aka Frejya) out of Shadow Husky Rescue. According to her fosters she was extremely fearful of people especially men. She had been found as a stray and they suspected she had experienced some abuse and neglect as she was very good with other animals but extremely weary of people. It took a long time for her to warm up to us, especially my dad, but when I adopted Athena it really made her come out of her shell. She has slowly started warming up to our regulars at the dog park and everyday she grows more sure of herself and I look forward to see her grow even more. In August she celebrated her first year with us and we hope to have her for many more.
