Season of Justice (SOJ) exists to overcome the financial barriers that prevent over 250,000 unsolved homicide victims (US Department of Justice) from receiving the justice they deserve. While DNA analysis technology has advanced rapidly over the last 50 years, resources remain limited.
Season of Justice was formed to bridge that funding gap preventing investigating agencies from accessing the latest in forensic technology by raising money from generous justice seekers to fund grants for advanced DNA testing through private labs, in hopes of pushing unsolved violent crimes closer to being solved. These donations are also used to fund family grants for case-specific media awareness campaigns and supportive resources.
Programs Include:
- Law Enforcement Advanced DNA Testing Grant: in the past year, SOJ has provided over $400,000 in grant monies for DNA analysis solutions. These solutions include but are not limited to: forensic genealogy, next-generation sequencing, M-VAC extraction/analysis, and more.
- Victim/Family Grant: SOJ recently sponsored a billboard along Interstate I-30 in Dallas, TX highlighting the unsolved murder of Daniel Conley. With two additional awareness campaigns launching in May and over 10 pending campaigns, SOJ is committed to supporting the families of victims of violent crimes to get the answers and justice they deserve.
