To celebrate ten years of caring for homeless kitties and finding them loving families, SAFe Rescue invites you to show off the fur-bulous feline in your life!
Submit a photo* of your kitty companion, and the top vote-getter** will receive the title of SAFe’s Tenth Anniversary RePURRsentative (STAR). With the name comes not only bragging rights, but a custom pet portrait by local artist Sadie Pie Designs. This design will be used for stickers, apparel, and other exclusive merchandise commemorating a decade of rescuing cats in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
Is your kitty ready for the spotlight? Every cat is the star of their home, but only one purrsonality will become our Rescue’s STAR. Lights, camera, meow!

** Votes are $1 each. Voting fee starts at $5. This means everyone starts with five votes, but you can purchase additional votes as desired.
Prizes
First Place:
This lucky house lion will be named SAFe’s Tenth Anniversary RePURRsentative (or STAR), demonstrating the finest in felines on behalf of one decade of Seattle Area Feline Rescue.
If your cat is selected as our STAR, you will receive one hand-crafted pet portrait by local artist Sadie Pie Designs based on the winning photo.
A digital version of Sadie Pie’s illustration will then be used in promotional merchandising available for purchase via SAFe Rescue’s online and in-person retail store.
Second Place:
The runner-up will have their photo made into a limited edition sticker design by Sadie Pie Designs. You will receive ten stickers. Remaining stickers will be distributed by SAFe Rescue at future community events.
To submit a photo of your cat, a minimum $10 donation is required.
Only photos of pet cats may be submitted. Subjects do not have to be SAFe Alumni. (But if they are, please tell us in their bio!)
Please submit a clear photo of your kitty, preferably in the headshot style with a clear view of the eyes. File size does not matter, but keep in mind that our portrait artist will be working off this reference image, so the crisper the image, the better.
Only one cat per photo.
Other things to keep in mind:
- Use unaltered photos (i.e. avoid Instagram filters or black and white edits)
- Photos must be submitted online via this website by 11:59:59 PM (Pacific Time) on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. No entries via email or social media will be allowed.
- You must own the rights and/or permission to the photo you submit (no celebri-kitties or photos found online). You may submit a photo of a cat that isn’t yours if you know them and have permission to share (for instance, you may submit a photo you took of a friend’s cat.)
- Photos or captions deemed offensive, indecent or obscene will be disqualified.
- By submitting a photo, you grant SAFe Rescue publication rights for the photo and caption.
- If you wish to enter more than one cat, each one must be submitted separately.
