Maybelle was a breeder dog for her first maybe 2 years of life. She was bred on her first heat and had a litter then bred again and was pregnant with 8 puppies. The breeders let her labor for 3 days before seeking help. When they were told that most of not all the puppies were likely dead they decided to put her down. That is when rescue stepped in, they called me that night to be a foster. She had a c-section right away and surprise had 2 surviving puppies. Maybelle suffered a ruptured uterus during surgery and needed lots of TLC and some heavy duty antibiotics. She was initially just a foster but her personality and demeanor was so wonderful that I decided to get her trained to be a therapy dog. She now works with me at Atlanta detox center and Atlanta center for mental health. She loves her job and the clients have all gained so much from having her around. Maybelle is the real MVP. She dresses up daily for work and enjoys all the attention so much. Maybelle is a blessing.
