Dewey was originally adopted from Humane Society as a "barn cat". He had been rescued from a hoarding situation and labeled as feral. He was skinny, short hair and scared. We were instructed to keep him in a kennel in barn with food/ water and litter box for 2 weeks to acclimate. Unfortunately, he did not eat/drink and almost died (even though I sat and held him several times a day. I convinced my husband he was NOT a barn cat and needed to come in our home. My husband did not want a cat in the house , but soon agreed being the animal lovers we are. At that time, my husband called him "barn cat my ass" which soon evolved to "do over" which finally came to be "Dewey". He is the sweetest, most loving cat I have ever owned and I grew up with cats my whole life. I love my sweet Dewey.
