Welcome to the Portrait Society of America's 2^nd International Self Portrait Fundraiser, "A View of Self." During the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis, we are challenging artists around the world to paint, draw, or sculpt their self-portrait because you are your best model during this time. This is an online-only contest, and the winner of the contest will be selected by votes cast.

The Entry Fee is $5.00, and every vote for your favorite work is $1.00. Funds raised will be used to support the ongoing educational programming of the Portrait Society of America.


1^st Place

• 2022 Conference Tuition and featured article (a $635.00+ value)

2^nd Place

• 2021 Fall Portrait Academy tuition (a $235.00 value)

3^rd Place

• 1-year membership (a $70.00 value)

We will accept original, 2- and 3-dimensional art only. Any medium including oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, pastel, charcoal, pencil, pen and ink, bronze, and wood will be accepted. No photography prints or computer-generated artwork will be accepted. Because this is an online competition, there are no size restrictions. The submission must be an original self-portrait created in 2020 or 2021. Artwork must be original and of high quality, so only submit your best work.

Submission opens on June 23, 2021 at 8:00 AM EST and closes on July 23, 2021 at 11:59 PM EST. Voting will begin on July 24, 2021 at 12:00 AM EST and end on August 23, 2021 at 11:59 PM EST. The First, Second, and Third place winners will be announced by chairman Michael Shane Neal on August 26, 2021.
