A little about me...Clyde was a nervous little fella who didn't
even know how to climb stairs when we
adopted him on April Fools' Day last year,
but he has since learned how to navigate his
way around our home and into our hearts.
Although my dad wasn't too sure about
getting a second dog, this sweet boy quickly
became my dad's shadow, and now the two
are inseparable. After being rescued from a
backyard in Florida with about 50 other
dogs, Clyde had to learn from his rescue dog
brother, Kiwi, how to sniff while on a walk,
sit for treats, and play with stuffed toys.
Clyde now confidently leaps up the stairs in
a hilarious flourish, cuddles himself up next
to my dad in bed, and loves to steal socks to
later greet you with at the front door. When
we first brought him home, he used to near-
constantly quake in fear, but nowadays, the
only time he shivers is when he gets a brain
freeze from a puréed pumpkin ice cube!
Watching Clyde let go of his fears, adjust to
his new life as a pet, and express his loving
personality has been very rewarding, and we
are so grateful to the Animal Welfare
League for connecting us with this
wonderful dog.
Clyde has become an integral part of the
family and we can't imagine our lives
without him!
