How do I enter my pet and how much is the fee?
Simply click the "SIGN IN" button on the top of the page to log in (existing accounts) or register (if you're new) to get started! From there, follow the directions to upload and enter your pet.
The entry fee is $25 per photo. All proceeds from contest entries will help us provide shelter and care for the animals in need on Oʻahu.
How many votes do I need to have my pet featured?
As many as it takes! We will be taking the top 5 dogs, top 5 cats, and top 2 other animals to be featured in our 12 month calendar.
How do I vote for a pet's picture?
Votes are $1 each. All votes are tax-deductible. Yes, you can vote for your own pet's photo (and as many times as you and your friends and family want!). All votes must be done online via the website.
When does voting close?
Online voting closes June 30 at 11:59:59 PM.
How do I know if I won?
The winners of each category will be announced via email. You can also check the
leaderboards to see how well your pet is doing.
How can I pre-order a calendar?
Pre-orders for the calendars will be available on our retail website on August 1, 2024.
When will I get my calendar?
Calendars will be available for purchase and mailed out in November 2024.

Contest Period:
Photo submissions and voting be open June 1 to June 30, 2024 at 11:59:59 PM HST.
Eligibility:
Your pet does not have to be a Hawaiian Humane Society alumni to enter. If you have more than one pet, they can be submitted together, please note that they must be in one photo and only one prize will be given out. (If you enter two dogs and win Top 5, you will only get one complimentary calendar, and the photoshoot will be done together)
Entering:
Entrants may enter as many photos as they would like for $25 donation per entry. Entries must be submitted online by June 30, 2024, at 11:59:59 PM HST. If your photo does not meet the requirements, you risk forfeiting your photo being in the printed calendar. If your pet wins the Pet of the Month feature, and your photo is not high quality, we will ask you for a new one.
If your pet does not win, not to worry, they will still have a chance to be featured in the calendar via the monthly thumbnail picture.
Photo Guidelines:
- No people, just pets
- Photos may contain more than one pet
- Photos of any legal pet in Hawaiʻi are eligible to enter
- Must be in landscape (horizontal) format
Photo Tips:
- As much as we love the indoors, photos taken outside look really good
- The higher the resolution, the better (1280 pixels wide and at least 1 megabyte in file size)
Voting:
Each vote is $1.00 each and tax-deductible. And yes, you can vote for your own pet! All votes must be done online via the website. Use the "share" button on your pet's public profile to share your entry through Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites. You can also email the links to family and friends to encourage voting for your pet's picture.
The Hawaiian Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Each donation supports over 30 programs the Hawaiian Humane Society provides for the community and it’s animals. All donations are nonrefundable. Please save the transaction email for your tax records.
Warranties and Grants of Rights in Connection with the Contest:
When you enter the Pets in Paradise™ Calendar Contest, you warrant that the photograph is original, you are the sole owner and copyright holder of the photograph, and you have not granted exclusive rights of the photograph to any other person or entity. With regard to any image or content submitted, you agree to grant the Hawaiian Humane Society the right and permission to use, modify, adapt, reproduce, publish, and distribute the photograph. Once entered, photos become the property of the Hawaiian Humane Society to be used for print and marketing purposes. Any inappropriate images submitted will be removed immediately with no opportunity for a refund.
