Pets Alive Niagara, in partnership with Indigo Pet Photography, is happy to announce a brand new fundraising initiative – a wonderful dog calendar contest for 2025. Proceeds from the sale of the calendar and photo contest will assist Pets Alive Niagara with their on-going efforts to provide for the medical needs of dogs and cats in their care. Anywhere between $1,000 and $2,600 is spent on each dog depending on their needs, for vetting, dental, and preparation for adoption. This fundraiser will allow Pets Alive to continue with its important mission to foster and care for dogs and cats in need, and to find appropriate, responsible, loving homes for each one.
We encourage you to submit your favourite photo of your dog and ask your family and friends to vote for them. Please review the Contest Rules carefully for submission guidelines; those that do not follow these rules will not be eligible to win. Fees for photo entries and votes will help Pets Alive Niagara continue its efforts towards saving the lives of pets in need, and finding happily ever after homes for them.
Grand Prize:
The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 12 entrants that get the most votes. The top winner will win the coveted cover photo for the 2025 calendar and have their pet featured as a dog of the month! 2nd - 12th place winners will have their pet featured as a dog of the month. All winners will have their dog professionally photographed by Indigo Pet Photography for the 2025 calendar.
Reserve a Special Spot In The Calendar For Your Pet:
Honour your pet or celebrate a gotcha-day or birthday by reserving an empty grid space (before or after the numbered squares) for their photo. Choose a favorite photo, a month, and pay. Each month has a limited number of squares in each grid and will be filled on a first come, first served basis; don't delay! Each grid space is just $15.

The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 12 entrants that get the most votes. The top winner will win the coveted cover photo for the 2025 calendar plus be featured as a dog of the month! 2nd - 12th place winners will have their pet featured as a dog of the month.
All winners will have the opportunity to purchase artwork and images following their session, if desired.
**The top 12 vote getters will have their pet professionally photographed by Indigo Pet Photography, in a Niagara location chosen by the photographer, for the 2025 calendar.
Weekly Mini Contest Prizes:
Each week the dog receiving the highest number of
new votes will win a mini-contest prize from one of the participating businesses. Each dog may only win a weekly mini-contest once. In the event of a tie, a random computerized draw will be held between the highest vote getters of the week to determine that week's winner. In the event that there are no new votes for that week, a random computerized draw will be held for all eligible dogs. Certain individual business restrictions and limitations may apply and may vary by business. Indigo Pet Photography is not responsible for these restrictions and eligibility requirements as determined by each business.
RulesEntries:
All dog breeds are welcomed and encouraged to enter! Your dog does not need to be a PAN alumni to participate.
Each entry is a $10 donation and counts as ten (10) votes for your pet.
Limit of ONE dog per photo entry. People are not allowed in photos, only your dog. Photos that do not follow these rules will not be eligible to win, with no opportunity for a refund.
Dogs entered must still be living for a chance to win one of the 12 grand prize spots in the calendar. In memoriam photos are welcomed in one of the available Grid Spaces with a $15 donation (limited number available each month).
All photos must be uploaded; we cannot accept printed photos. We cannot accept any copyrighted or professional photos.
The Submissions Period starts at 8:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Monday, April 1, 2024 and ends at 8:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
The email acknowledgment to your online donation serves as your receipt.
Any photograph that includes content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent, or obscene, as determined by Indigo Pet Photography, in its sole discretion, will be removed from the contest with no opportunity for a refund.
Each dog may enter once. Posting more than one photo of your dog does not increase the chances of winning, only one photo will be permitted.
The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 12 entries that receive the most votes. The same dog can only win once. Attempts to win two spots in the calendar by the same dog will not be permitted.
Voting:
Each $1 donation counts as one (1) vote.
All donations from voting are non-refundable. Entries and donations must be made via the online contest page. Contest payments online are through a secure site.
Contest votes are tax deductible. The email acknowledgment to your online donation serves as your tax receipt.
All winners will be determined by electronic vote tabulations under the supervision of GoGo Photo Contest, whose decisions are final and binding.
The Voting Period starts at 8:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Monday, April 1, 2024 and ends at 8:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
Calendar Photo Session:
The 12 dogs with the most votes will win a professional pet photography session with Indigo Pet Photography. Sessions will take place between May and August, 2024 in the Niagara Region at a location chosen by the photographer. If you are unable to commit to a photo session during those times or find yourself unable to travel to a pre-selected Niagara location, you forfeit your winning and the next top voted dog will take your dog's spot in the calendar, no exceptions.
The overall top vote recipient will win the coveted cover photo for the 2025 calendar. The 12 recipients with the most votes will be eligible to have their dog featured as a dog of the month.
The photographer, Indigo Pet Photography, will choose the best image of each dog to be used in the calendar as well as the month that the image will appear.

The dog receiving the highest number of new votes each week over the course of the four-week contest will win a mini-contest prize from one of the participating businesses.
Each dog may only win a weekly mini-contest once.
In the event of a tie, a random computerized draw will be held between the highest vote getters of the week to determine that week's winner.
In the event that there are no new votes for that week, a random computerized draw will be held for all eligible dogs.
Certain individual business restrictions and limitations may apply and may vary by business. Indigo Pet Photography is not responsible for these restrictions and eligibility requirements as determined by each business.
Prize fulfillment takes place directly between the winner and the businesses providing the weekly contest prizes.
The Fine Print:
By submitting a photo entry, you warrant and represent that your entry is your own original work created by you and that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to your entry materials. If you submit an entry that is copyrighted by another individual, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you.
Calendars will be available for sale to the general public starting in October, 2024.
By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Pets Alive Niagara and Indigo Pet Photography and each of their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claims of any nature arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.
