Paragraph describing what is unique or quirky about your pet (what makes your pet one in 3 million?)
Atlas is the dog who did not know how to play. We adopted Atlas, age 7, from Oakland Animal Services 2-1/2 years ago, where he had been returned for the third time by different sets of people. They told us he had been kept by himself in an outdoor dog run, and might take some time to adjust to household living. We could see that he was sweet and eager to please, and immediately wanted to adopt him. Somehow his 95 fluffy pounds looked smaller at the shelter, so when we got him home, he looked more like a white pony than a white dog. We learned that he could sit, stay, and shake hands, yet he did not know how to play at all. He was a champ and thrived with all the love and attention, but he did not understand chasing a ball. After numerous sessions at the local dog park, he suddenly realized that chasing a ball - especially the squeaky kind - was fun. He loves other dogs, and starts whimpering when he even sees another dog 1/2 block away. His best friend is Opus the rescue greyhound, and he loves to howl at sirens.
