My husband wanted a medium sized dog and I wanted a small dog, but when we met Rusty, an extra large 85 lb dog, at Oakland Animal Services last year, we fell in love immediately. He has transformed our lives. We take him everywhere because he brings us so much joy. He gets to go to work every day. He has brought the whole office together with his smiles and antics. Coworkers bond over Rusty stories. This is a photo of Rusty on a road trip to Moab where we all went mountain biking.

Rusty is a 6-7 year old German Shepherd and Rottweiler mix who was a 70 lb emaciated stray before finding himself at OAS.
