Barley and Pinkie are two of my four special needs cats. Barley is the sweetest, gentlest orange boy and loved being Papa Bear to every foster kitten that came into my house. Having been a shelter rescue himself, it was almost like he wanted to comfort all the other kittens and let them know, "It's okay. You're safe now." While he nurtured them all, he found something extra special about Pinkie and took him under his paw. When the time came to find homes for Pinkie and his three littermates, I just couldn't separate these two and so became a foster failure for the first of several times. Pinkie is very shy and sensitive. He had a very rough start in life, born as a feral kitten and plagued with health problems from a young age. He transforms around Barley though into a happy and relaxed cat. These two are truly best friends forever.
