Sliema and I met at OAS in October of 2016. She was a puppy and identified as part Maltese and I adopted her. Confirming that this was fate, I had just returned from holiday from Malta, and named her Sliema. This was the town I stayed in and it means peace. This bouncy, friendly, sweet puppy has changed my life. I now know many of my neighbors and Sliema is so happy to visit with people. I take her everywhere I can and love seeing the smiles on strangers' faces who can't wait to meet her. In the condo I live in, she looks down the hallways to see if there are neighbors she can greet and many of my neighbors say she is their favorite dog in the building. Being asked many times what her mix is, I had her DNA done and found out she is not Maltese at all, but is Chihuahua, mini-poodle, mini schnauzer and labrador. Her looks stop traffic. Warriors player Klay Thompson spotted her walking and pulled over his car to meet Sliema. I haven't even had her a year and cannot imagine my life without her. Sliema has brought me peace and love.
