Dog's Bio
Scout (fka Athena)

Scout came to us in May of 2021. She had been returned to Great Pyrs and Paws Rescue at 14 months with an immediate need for Entropion surgery. She had surgery and was recovering with a foster family when we adopted her.

Scout has been such a wonderful addition to our family. She quickly adjusted to our routine and lifestyle. Hunting chipmunks and guarding us from the foxes and raccoons are daily activities. lol Running with me using a hands free leash was one of her accomplishments. We are so proud of her.

We recently moved to Florida where Scout has enjoyed the hot and humid temperatures as she originally came from Texas. She now protects us from the pool, pest control and delivery guys. The freezing temperatures and snow of New England were not her favorite. Lol

Scout accompanied her Dad most days at his work back in New England. She has become a true and loyal companion for him. From loving to ride in his Jeep, taking walks in the neighborhood, going on music gigs to just relaxing with him. We have taken her on bike rides with us. Dad pulled her in a trailer. She wasn’t a fan. lol

She experienced her first snow, vacations at the lake, staying overnight at our neighbors (Camp Tina Street 🥰), hanging out with other dogs and horses, celebrating her 2nd, 3rd and 4th birthdays, her human sister’s wedding (on Scout’s birthday), the Atlantic ocean, hiking a local mountain and being a wonderful companion to her grandfather who had stage 4 cancer. Sadly he passed in February 2023. Scout was deeply affected by his passing, sitting by his chair wondering where he had gone. 💔

We look forward to showing her the Gulf of Mexico and many new adventures in Florida.

Scout has been such a good girl. Again, we are so very proud of her and how well she has adapted. We are the lucky ones in that we get to say she rescued us.
