National Pyr Rescue's 2025 Top Dog Calendar Cover Contest

Making a Difference, One Dog at a Time—Your Entry Can Help!

Our 2025 Top Dog Calendar Cover Contest is underway and our Great Pyrenees urgently need your help. Entering your dog's photo in the contest and voting helps fund rescue.

We are in the midst of a national sheltering and rescue crisis.  Shelters are turning away dogs because of a "Capacity Crisis"—more dogs are entering shelters than leaving.  Shelters can’t accommodate the number of dogs who need precious kennel space—they’re out of room. This puts increased pressure on rescues like NGPR who become the dogs' last and only hope of getting out. We're trying to help as many dogs as we can but since Covid, medical costs have risen exponentially putting increased pressure on rescues.  One surgery can drain thousands of dollars from rescue funds.

Get a Free Calendar and Multiply Your Dog's Chances of Being Featured

Help give rescue the boost we need now by submitting your dog's photo for the contest. Submission cost includes delivery of one free copy of the calendar (retail value $40) in early November.  Submit as many photos as you like—for every photo submission you get a free calendar!

Our calendar design is different from other calendars. It was developed to maximize the number of dogs' photos featured every month. Instead of just one feature photo per month, each month in our calendar has 12 feature photos contained in a large 12" X 24" format.  That's a total of 168 feature photos—12 X 14 months, (not including thumbnails or "date" photos) giving your dog a much greater chance of being shown in the calendar. Last year nearly every dog entered in the contest found a place on our calendar pages. Click here to see a sample month from last year and for hints on how to move your dog into a top spot!

The cost is $45 to submit your dog's photo for publication in the calendar, enter the Top Dog calendar cover  contest and receive one 14-month  Happy Endings calendar. The calendar goes from December 2024 through January 2026 and there's no charge for delivery. Calendars will be mailed in early November and available for holiday giving. You'll love how your dog looks in the calendar!

Submit your photo now and spread the word with friends and relatives about voting for our 2025 Top Dog! All photo submissions will have a chance to be our "Top Dog" calendar cover dog. Every dollar equals one point and is tax-deductible; the dog with the highest number of points will be our new cover dog.  And (see below) the top 20 contest entries (Runners Up and Honor Roll dogs) get multiple free calendars!

About
NGPR is a volunteer, tax-exempt, non-profit organization whose mission is to save and re-home rescued Great Pyrenees dogs in the U.S. and Canada. We've been leading the fight to save Pyrs and Pyr mixes since 2006 and our dedication to actively supporting front-line rescuers with funding and logistical support has not faltered. Our organization:

  • Rescues dogs from high-kill shelters
  • Provides fostering, veterinary care, and behavioral training so Pyrs can be re-homed as companion animals
  • Organizes weekly transports to move dogs out of high-kill areas
  • Underwrites costly medical expenditures for sick and injured dogs
  • Operates an 800  hotline number to assist Pyrs and Pyr owners throughout the United States
  • Educates the public about the breed
NGPR supports Pyr rescue efforts across the country, encourages the start-up of new Pyr rescue groups and urges all Pyr rescuers to work together to save more Pyrs.
