Happy T'ales - the lead-up to Oktopurrfest
The Happy T'ales Beer Label Contest kicks off our countdown to Oktopurrfest! Brown's Brewing Company is our partner for both of these one-of-a-kind events.
In past years, one contest winner has been featured on limited-edition 4-packs of Best Friends Lager, available exclusively at Oktopurrfest (more on that below!) This year, we're featuring 4 pets in a superstar 4-pack! This means that 4 pets will have a chance for beer label fame and glory, each on their own label.
Limited-edition 4-packs of Brown's Best Friends Lager will be available at our Oktopurrfest celebration on Thursday, October 9 at Brown's Revolution Hall and can also be ordered for pickup at MHHS.

*Choose Your Photo Wisely
- Send us a pic that shows your pet's personality. It should be sharp and clear. The label will be designed around the photo, but it will be graphically modified in some way. An adorable photo is the way to win hearts and votes for your pet.
Join us for Oktopurrfest on October 9 at Revolution Hall
MHHS is home to the world's one and only OKTOPURRFEST. Now in its 8th year, this legendary feline-centric celebration features delicious fall fare with a German-ish theme, Brown's award-winning craft beer, great music, fun swag, raffles, and the highly anticipated crowning of the Feline Festmeister.
Also at this event, we will celebrate the winners of the Happy T'ales Beer Label Contest. Winners will receive two tickets to the event plus other goodies!

- The winning pet's families will receive two Honorary Committee tickets to Oktopurrfest, including our VIP Yappy Hour, on Thursday, October 9 at Brown's Revolution Hall. Winners will also receive other awesome gifts. See rules for details.
- A video featuring the top winner with the most votes will be shown at Oktopurrfest!
Rules
2025 Happy T’ales Beer Label Contest
10:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 - 9:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, September 3, 2025
Contest Entry
- The minimum donation for submitting an entry for the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society’s Happy T’ales Beer Label Contest in conjunction with Brown’s Brewing Company is $10 per entry.
- Entries must be accompanied by a photo of one pet. No people, please.
- You may submit as many entries as you like. One entry fee per pet.
- All entries must be submitted online. We are not able to accept hard copies.
- Entries must be received by 9:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
- The 4 pets receiving the most votes will be featured on their own Brown’s Brewing Company beer labels, featured in a limited-edition 4-pack of Best Friends Lager. An artist will create a custom label based on the photo provided. The photo may be altered or stylized for the label design.
- Once entered, all photos become the property of the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and can be used, edited, or modified for print or marketing purposes.
- Any photo deemed inappropriate by MHHS staff will be eliminated from the contest.
Eligible Entries
- All animal species (other than humans) are eligible.
- Your pet does not have to have been adopted from MHHS to be eligible to enter.
- Photographs must either feature pets owned by the entrant OR the entrant must have permission from the pet's owner to submit their pet's image.
- Acceptable photo formats are JPEG and PNG.
- Photos may contain only one pet.
- Photos must contain only pets (no people).
- A clear, high-quality image, especially of the pet’s face, is important.
Contest Voting
- Each dollar donated to a pet's campaign represents one vote.
- Due to processing costs, a minimum $5 donation is required.
- All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
- All donations to the label contest are final.
- All votes must be applied to selected pets by the conclusion of the voting period to be counted.
- An email address is required to make an online donation so that a receipt with tax information can be sent to the donor.
- Votes can only be cast through the GoGo platform.

- Entries must be received by 9:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

- We provided safety and shelter to stray and unidentified pets, reuniting 269 of them with their families.
- Zero euthanasia of safe, healthy, and treatable animals.

Keeping Pets in Homes Where They Are Loved
- We distributed over 80,000 pet meals through our Furry Friends Pet Food Pantry.
- We provided over 1,800 reduced-cost community wellness services, including spay and neuter surgeries, vaccinations, microchipping, and more.
- Our free Behavior and Enrichment Helpline connected dozens of families with the expertise of our staff for help with training and behavior issues.
