Get to Know the Pets and Heroes
Sasha, a 1.5-year-old Siberian Red Husky mix is known at Maui Humane Society as being the shy dog whisperer. She was fostered by MHS’ Volunteer Coordinator, who quickly realized she couldn’t live without her and adopted her! Since then, Sasha has been her mom’s faithful companion at work and at home - always by her side giving hugs and begging to play outside with her foster siblings or other shelter pets. She loves playing in the water, running around with her boyfriend Biggie, and helping teach other dogs how to let loose and have fun! She’s her mom’s best friend.

Lucy, also known as Lu, is a 2-year-old Catahoula Leopard and Hound mix is currently in a foster home with her best friend Sasha and available for adoption! She’s a shy girl who had a rough start in life, but thanks to her foster mom and dog-sibling Sasha, has become trusting, loving, and funny. Her foster mom says she’s a comedian who will keep you laughing, is playful, and the best cuddler out there. Lu would thrive in a home with other confident dog(s) and lots of napping spots! Bryce is a lifeguard at Honokohau Bay in Lahaina. He and his wife are pet parents to one senior dog, three cats, two ducks, and one chicken. Bryce was raised in Lahaina, graduated from Lahainaluna High School, and has served his community as a lifeguard for six years.
