Get to Know the Pets and Heroes
Butter, also known as Buddah or Buddha Boi, is a 3-year-old guinea pig. True to his Libra sun sign, he is very friendly, adores people, and gets along great with his feline and Rottweiler sisters. Butter loves watching Family Guy, eagerly anticipates his "candies” (AKA timothy hay treats), and uses his loud "wheek wheeks" and mind control to score extra veggies.

Carter is a firefighter from the Wailea station on Engine 14. He has a Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix named Umi and a Shih Tzu named Maggie, and he loves Pit Bulls. Carter’s favorite part about being a firefighter is helping his community. When Carter is off the clock, he plays ukulele for his band, Fo Shua.

John is a firefighter from the Wailea station on Engine 14. His favorite thing about dogs is that they are always happy to see their people, and they have the ability to relieve stress after a hard day. As a firefighter, John enjoys working alongside great people.

Avi is a firefighter from the Wailea station on Ladder 14. He has an orange Tabby cat named Hershel and a senior Chihuahua mix named Kiba. As a firefighter, Avi loves connecting with his community and serving Maui.

Brent is a Firefighter III assigned to the Health and Safety Bureau. He has a Pit Bull/Hound mix named Axe, a Yorkshire Terrier mix named Ace, and a Chihuahua mix named Lily, and he helps care for a chinchilla named Poof. His favorite things about animals are their playfulness and the unconditional love they give.

Matt is a firefighter from the Lahaina station on Engine 3. He has a Pointer/Heeler mix named Ona and a Pit Bull named Honey, who he considers to be his best friends. His favorite part about his job as a firefighter is helping both the people and the animals of Maui.
