Get to Know the Pets and Heroes
Hope, also known as Hopie, is an 11-year-old Australian Shepherd who was displaced with her ‘ohana after the Lahaina fire. After many stressful moves between temporary housing, her family made the difficult decision to surrender her to Maui Humane Society in search of a second chance. Hope was most comfortable in staff offices during her stay at MHS, and she was spoiled with morning hugs and evening kisses. She loves with all her heart and especially enjoys getting treats! Hope was transferred to Miranda's Rescue in Fortuna, CA to find her new home to live out her golden years.

Lee is a Firefighter II from the Kahului station on Rescue 10. He grew up with guinea pigs, rabbits, and cats. Lee has served the department for nearly 10 years and loves giving back to the community that raised him.
