Get to Know the Pets and Heroes
Uni, a 3-month-old Shar Pei/Bully mix, was rescued on Moloka‘i and brought to Maui by her parents, who, are now believers of “love at first sight.” One look at her wrinkles, beautiful gray coat, and striking blue eyes, and they were done for! Uni’s mom plans to train her to be a therapy dog. She loves learning new tricks, playing in the water, and getting as many cuddles and belly rubs as she can take.

Brian is a firefighter from the Kahului station on Engine 10. His family dog growing up “found him,” and he plans to adopt a big dog in the future. As a firefighter for three years, Brian enjoys helping people.
