Mayor of Mt. Helix Election

*Exciting Announcement: Elect the First-Ever Pet Mayor of Mt. Helix!**

We are thrilled to announce a pawsome partnership between The Animal Pad, GMIA, and the Mt. Helix Park Foundation to elect the first-ever Mayor of Mt. Helix—and the candidates are none other than your beloved cats and dogs!

This unique election is open to all furry residents of the unincorporated Mt. Helix area. Whether your four-legged friend is a loyal leader or a cool cat, they could be the next Mayor of Mt. Helix!

The best part? All funds raised from this fun-filled campaign will go directly to **The Animal Pad**, a 501(c)3 non-profit rescue based in La Mesa at the foot of Mt. Helix, dedicated to saving lives and finding loving homes for dogs and cats in need.

Together, we can make a difference for animals while having a blast with our community!

Rules

Eligibility

All dogs/cats must be current on vaccinations and spayed/neutered unless able to provide a statement from a veterinarian that the pet is exempt due to a medical reason.
Pets must be leash trained and able to interact with community members at events. This includes the ability to interact with children. Please note that no pet will be forced into any interaction and the pet’s owner will be able to remove the pet from any situation that is deemed too stressful or otherwise negatively impacts the pet.
Pets are not eligible if they have a documented bite history.
All pet owners must be in good standing in the community.
Pet owners should be current residents of unincorporated Mt. Helix.
The winner should be able to attend community events as requested by GMIA and the Mt. Helix Park Foundation (approximately 4/year).
