About Lake Oconee Humane Society
LOHS isn't just another animal shelter; they're a sanctuary of hope and transformation. They’re dedicated to reducing pet homelessness and helping pets and their caregivers have the best quality of life. Their programs of rescue & adoption, pet food distribution, low-cost spay/neuter, education, training, and financial assistance for medical treatments are how they improve the quality of life of our pets and our community. With a very limited staff, they utilize more than 150 volunteers to help run the shelter and programs. Remarkably, they achieve all this without any government funding, relying solely on the heartwarming generosity of individuals and corporations.

LOHS Mission

A center dedicated to advocacy for the care of cats and dogs in need of help through an approach that benefits and improves the community and lives of animals utilizing outreach, education, and services accessible to all.

LOHS Vision
