- A paragraph that tells voters something fun or interesting about the horse in the photo.

- The top 13 winners will win a free professional photoshoot from Beyond the Stables Photography & an 8x10 fine art print of a portrait of their choosing. Photos from the winners photoshoots will be used to make our 2025 “Horses of the PNW” calendar. The first place winner will also be featured on the cover of the calendar!
- There will be weekly high point winners as well! Each week we will announce the current leader, determined by high vote, to win bonus prizes that were generously donated by local businesses.
- All entries must be the original work of the entrant. You must own the copyright to the photograph.
- Beyond the Stables Photography and Kataluna Horse Rescue reserves the right to modify or clarify any of the contest rules during the term of the contest without advance notice.

- When commenced, each vote is $1 and the top 13 winners will be featured in our 2025 calendar!

Contest Rules
- The contest opens at 8:00:00 AM (Pacific Time) on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. The contest closes at 8:00:00 PM (Pacific Time) on Thursday, March 21, 2024 Only funds raised within these dates will be considered.
- Donations made in support of an animal are valued at one vote for every $1.00 donated. There may also be promotions where donors can get bonus votes.
- Participants can enter or donate from anywhere. However, contest winners must be physically present in Washington state to claim their photoshoot prize. Photoshoots will take place within a one hour radius of Fall City, WA. Haul in spots are available OR photographer will travel for travel costs. Photoshoot by Beyond the Stables Photography is required to be featured in the calendar.
- By submitting a photo, you acknowledge and give permission to Beyond the Stables Photography & Kataluna Horse Rescue to use the name, story and photo of the animal entered in future publications, promotions and materials, including the 2026 "PNW Horses" Calendar. You also confirm that you own the rights to the photo you are submitting.
- All calendar winners must be Horses that reside in Washington state or that are able to be transported to Washington state at the owners expense. Animals in contest photos must not be displaying any signs of distress (e.g., looking fearful or anxious). We reserve the right to ask for a new picture submission for any reason.
- Kataluna Horse Rescue & Beyond the Stables Photography reserves the right to disqualify an entry based on objectionable content or depiction of the animal or persons in a photo, if an appropriate replacement cannot be submitted.
- Sign up matching bonus day: Beyond the Stables Photography is generously providing 25 bonus votes when you make a self-donation of $25 or more during your contest entry registration by midnight on March 13th 2024.

So long as an animal does not look distressed (e.g., fearful or anxious), you may enter the contest with whatever picture you choose. Winning submissions must follow the rules below for print:
- Photos must be a minimum of 3600x2700 pixels (or 12x9 inches) at a resolution of 300 DPI. PNG, JPG and TIFF image formats are accepted.
- Winners must own the rights to the photos they provide (i.e., photos taken by professional photographers who reserve the rights to their images are not eligible).
- Photos submitted for the calendar must include at least one horse owned by the person entering the contest. Landscape format is preferred.
- Please ensure that the photo selected is sharp and in focus as much as possible.
- Photos submitted must =(spca.bc.ca/fivefreedoms). Kataluna Horse Rescue and Beyond the Stables Photography are opposed to practices that prevent animals from expressing natural behaviors. Photos should not feature animals performing unnatural activities. Photos of different species (e.g., cats with dogs) must show each animal looking comfortable with the interaction.
- If the photo contains a person accompanying an animal, you must be able to confirm and provide express written consent from that person for the contest to use the photo. However, it is preferred that the photo not feature people.
- Your horse does NOT have to be adopted from Kataluna Horse Rescue to be eligible to enter the contest.
- Photos must be full-color and not heavily filtered, edited or altered.
- Photos with professional photographer watermarks will not be eligible to be included in the calendar.
- Photos deemed offensive, indecent or obscene will be removed from the contest.
- Photos must receive at least 5 votes to be eligible for prizes and included in the 2025 calendar.
- All online photo entries must be submitted by 8:00:00 PM (Pacific Time) on Thursday, March 21, 2024.
- All photos submitted become the property of Beyond the Stables Photography for use during the calendar fundraiser.
**Contest Rules for "Horses of the PNW" Photo Contest**
Welcome to the "Horses of the PNW" Photo Contest! Please read the following rules carefully to ensure your entry is eligible:
**1. Eligibility:**
- This contest is open to anyone who owns a horse or has legal rights to submit a photo of a horse.
- Winners must be physically present in Washington state for their photoshoot to be featured in the calendar.

- Submit your favorite high-resolution horizontal photo of your horse (no humans in the photo).
- Include the following information with your submission:

**3. Prizes:**
- The top 13 winners will receive a free professional photoshoot from Beyond the Stables Photography and an 8x10 fine art print of a portrait of their choice. (Valued at $550).
- Photos from the winners' photoshoots will be used to create the 2025 "Horses of the PNW" calendar, with the first-place winner featured on the cover.
- Weekly high point winners will receive fabulous bonus prizes donated by local businesses. These prizes will be announced the week that they will be awarded and winners will be notified.

Answer: Once submitted you many not change your photo entry, sorry.
Do I have to live in Fall City to enter the contest?
Answer: Participants must be within Washington state to win or agree to transport to Washington state at owners expense. The winners will receive a professional photo shoot, those portraits will be used to make our calendar. Photo shoots will take place in Fall City, WA or within a 1 hour radius of Fall City, WA. OR may be hauled in at owners expense.
My pet is not a horse, can I still enter them?
Answer: This year our calendar is titled “Horses of the PNW” so as such we are only taking horse entries this year.
If I win a spot in the calendar, what happens next?
Answer: The Top 13 winners will be contacted directly by Beyond the Stables Photography to set up their photoshoot date, time and location. All photoshoots must take place before September 18th of 2024. The photographer will select the best quality portrait from that shoot to be used in the calendar. Beyond the Stables Photography will also set up an image reveal done over zoom to share the photo shoot portraits with the winner and let them select which one they would like for their free 8x10 fine art print, a digital file of that print will also be given. Other portraits and wall art will also be available for purchase if desired but is not required. The calendars will then be for sale in the fall of 2024 via Kataluna Horse Rescues website and various local businesses. All proceeds from the calendar sales will also go directly to Kataluna Horse Rescue.
Why are there 13 months to win?
Answer: 12 months in the year plus an additional month for January 2025.
