A little about me...
I was ready to adopt a dog after losing my Sampson of 13 years. I decided to go to the Black Friday adoption event that the Humane Society of Tampa Bay was having in November of 2019. I remembered seeing "Rose" on the HSTB website, so when I walked past her crate and saw she was even more adorable in person, my heart sank when I realized she was already being taken out for a meet and greet. In fact, all the dogs were spoken for already and while it was a great day, and I was so happy all the pups were going to their forever homes, I felt defeated to not be taking a dog home that day myself. As I was about to leave, a volunteer was walking "Rose" back and I leaned down to pet her and tell her I hope she has the best life with her new family. The volunteer told me that during her meet and greet, they decided she was a little too "high energy" for the family, so they weren't going to adopt her. Of course, I immediately asked if I could take her, and the volunteer was kind enough to hand me her paper and let me hang out with her for a bit. I knew she was mine from the moment I saw her, and Sadie came home with me that day. It has been almost 4 years now and Sadie has been on a cross-country road trip with me, visited 10 states, swam in the Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific Oceans, been on countless hikes, a water park just for dogs and has had more adventures than most people. She is the sweetest girl to every human she meets, but she keeps her dog friend group rather small. Ball is life to Sadie, so anywhere there is a ball and water, there is always a smile on her face.
