Your Pet's Story or Bio
We adopted Scarlett from Haven Pet Center (our second), who was fostered by my friend & co-worker. Scarlet was born with only partial back feet nubs. When I was told about her feet, I said I would take her. I knew if she went to a shelter, other than Haven she would be put down due to her handicap. As a nurse this is just a challenge and little inconvenience for her and me. Most of my house has tile floors; one of the first things we did was to put carpet runners and throw carpets in all the halls, kitchen and dining areas to give her more grip to get around. My husband has made special padded ramps and shelves for her to climb.
