Why is your dog a hero?
Despite ingesting rat poison as a puppy, being dropped off at a shelter to seek medical attention, contracting parvo, and surviving a terribly broken leg from a car accident after which she was left on the side of the road by her previous owners, Dottie has truly persevered.
Dottie experienced a lot in the two short years before she joined our family. And now, this stubborn, sweet, and fun natured Bull/Staffordshire Terrier mix is the hero to our family. Bringing laughter and joy to our home each day, and smiles to neighbors who see her on our walks, Dottie would be the ideal mascot of the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
Dottie, like the LAFD, has fought through what sometimes may feel like insurmountable obstacles only to continue to fight each and every day to serve - in Dottie’s case, serving our family. Hopefully she’ll have the opportunity to serve the LAFD and warm others hearts, as she does ours.
