Costumes Are Not Cancelled!
Even though the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County had to cancel their annual Pumpkinfest event in downtown Franklin, Tennessee – you can still participate in one of the most beloved events of the festival, the costume contest! This year, the contest is brought to you in a safe, virtual way.
The
Heritage Foundation of Williamson County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Williamson County's architectural, geographic and cultural heritage since 1967. In addition to saving and restoring buildings such as The Franklin Theatre, the Old, Old Jail and it's newest project, the former O'More College of Design campus, now renamed Franklin Grove Estate & Gardens, the Foundation also produces all the major street festivals. Main Street Festival and Pumpkinfest were started in 1984 as part of the Downtown Franklin Association (DFA), with the goal of driving tourism and economic vitality to a developing city. Dickens of a Christmas started a year later. About 36 years later, the DFA is one of the Heritage Foundation's divisions and is still focused on the continued revitalization of downtown. Our
"Paint the Town Orange" initiative is evidence of that. Learn more about those festivities happening this month:
