It's that time of year again, for our Photo Contest! Enter a photo of your
rescued/adopted cat or dog for a chance to have your furry family member's photo taken by Maren Sater Photography and used in one of fourteen lucky featured spots in our 2026 calendar!
THIS YEAR the top vote getting dog and top vote getting cat will win the opportunity to be featured on a limited edition brew label in collaboration with Pinnacle Brewing Company!The $50 entry fee includes one calendar to be shipped after the end of the contest AND a 4-pack of the RESCUED beer from Pinnacle Brewing Company (21+ only)All submitted images will be open to the public for voting and the top vote-grabbing 7 dogs and 7 cats will secure a featured Pet-of-the-Month spotlight, with the top 2 sharing the cover and the brew can label.

Calendar Order →Reserve a Day to Honor Your Pet
Just want a guaranteed spot in the calendar? Reserve a day to honor your pet. This can be for your pet's adoption anniversary, birthday, loved one's birthday, memorial or really any special day! Your pet's photo will appear on the day of your choice.
This pet does NOT have to be a FAR alum. Just choose your favorite photo and then choose the day and pay! First come first served! Once a date has been reserved, it will no longer be available.

Prizes
Dogs and Cats placed 2nd-6th will win:
- A professional studio-style photo shoot on site at Foothills Animal Rescue with Maren Sater Photography for your pet's calendar image
- Featured spot on the 2026 Calendar
- One social media ready and one print ready file of the selected image(s) for the calendar
- Copy of the 2026 FAR Calendar (included with entry fee)
- One 4-pack of Rescued beer from Pinnacle Brewing Company (Included in entry fee) to be picked up at Pinnacle Brewing Company in Scottsdale on or after September 27, 2025

Grand prize:
Our grand prize will go to the top vote-getting Dog AND Cat FAR Alum ! He/she will receive the following:
- The 1st place dog and 1st place cat will be featured on a limited edition brew can label from Pinnacle Brewing Company!
- Shared feature on the cover of the calendar
- The winning animal featured on 2027's calendar marketing material
- Print ready photo file for your personal use
- 2 tickets to our signature event, Whiskers & Wine held October 16th, 2025 (Value $150)
Contest Submission Entries
- Contest is open to any rescued/adopted dog or cat from a 501(c)3 organization. The animal does not have to originally be adopted from an Arizona rescue/shelter but you and the animal must CURRENTLY reside in Arizona to participate.
- The contest will begin taking photo submissions at 12:00:00 AM (US Mountain Time) on Sunday, June 15, 2025 and includes one calendar.
- There is a $50 registration fee per submission, which is considered a tax-deductible donation to FAR.
- For best online display, your image should be at least 96dpi and 1MB and clearly show your pet's face.
- Limit of one entry per animal. If you have more than one animal you'd like to submit in your household, please submit them as separate entries.
- A maximum of one pet per single photo entry, please.
- Submissions must include:
- Name of your pet
- Organization your pet was adopted from
- Adoption date, if known
- Owner's name
- Owner's e-mail address
- A brief paragraph of something fun, interesting or special about your pet. This may be shared if your pet wins.
- By submitting, you attest that you own the copyright to the image and can submit for contest purposes. If submitting a professional photo, please provide a print release authorization from the photographer/studio.
- By submitting, you acknowledge you give permission to Foothills Animal Rescue to use the name, story and image of your pet in future Foothills Animal Rescue marketing.
Voting
1. Voting opens at 12:00:00 AM (US Mountain Time) on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
2. Votes are open to the public and are $1 donation per vote. All voting donations are tax deductible and are non-refundable.
3. All entries and votes must be received by the close of the contest, at 11:59:59 PM (US Mountain Time) on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
4. The name of the game is as many votes as you can get! Share the link on social media! E-mail the contest info! Help your pet win and FAR reach our fundraising goal.
Winner Selection & Actions
Winners will be chosen by popular vote; the top dog and top cat with the most votes will win the grand prize while those that place 2nd-6th will secure a featured month on the calendar:
- Top vote in each category will share the cover AND have their image featured on a limited edition brew can label from Pinnacle Brewing Company!
- Each subsequent month will be in order of votes achieved:
- Dog and cats will be every other month
- In the event of a tie, Foothills Animal staff will vote to break the tie and/or a month may feature two pets.
Top winners will be scheduled for a professional studio-style photo shoot for the calendar with
Maren Sater Photography. - Winners agree to come on site for the shoot on one of the following dates:
- Saturday, August 2nd
- Sunday, August 10th
- *dates subject to change
- Photoshoot will be held at TBD, but most likely Foothills Animal Rescue in Scottsdale or somewhere else local.
- Photoshoot must be completed by August 10th to ensure time for print production of the calendar.
