Pet's Story or Bio
JJ is the most amazing family pet who genuinely loves everyone. He was born in Augusta , GA while I was stationed there as a Marine. From the moment my kids and I saw him we knew he was meant to be a military family dog and he knew it too. After bringing him home we were transferred to Fort Meade, MD. Our family spent the next 5 years there until my military retirement in 2020. During COVID JJ was a huge emotional support to my four kids and I. As a single father and newly retired after 27.5 years, I struggled with a lot of anxiety and depression. JJ saw myself and my kids through it all. We decided to return to my Hillsboro, Oregon roots after my lengthy career away in 2021. We had a house built near Shute Park and JJ remains with us through it all. The kids graduated from Hillsboro High, my Alma mater and one of JJ’s fav things to do is ride to the high school and socialize with all the kid’s friends. We spend our days exploring the beautiful Hillsboro Parks and going on long walks through the historic downtown area. Recently, JJ joined me at the Hillsboro 4th of July parade where he was a big hit with the kids and those we were sitting near. He’s the best and has served with me on active duty and now is my ESA in retirement. A real dog hero highly deserving.
