This sweet senior girl was rehomed by her original family because she wasn't adapting to their growing family (1-1/2 & 3 yo). Since I adopted her 2-1/2 months ago, her personality has shined; she's become an amazing companion, a lovely travel buddy, an alert watch dog, and an absolute joy to take anywhere.

Kona hasn't met a single person or dog she hasn't liked. To the contrary, she eagerly approaches everyone for snuggles and her favorite - "butt rubs". She greets other dogs politely, and if an aggressive dog unexpectedly rushes her, she backs away and doesn't fight.

She is my ESA for PTSD and is very intuitive to my need for companionship, and she seems to know if I'm having a difficult day. She snuggles up to me or sits at my side, nudging my leg or my hand every so often. My hope is to reintroduce her to training (she has all the basics down like a pro, including the most impeccable leash manners!) so she can complete her AKC Canine Good Citizen training and become a certified Therapy Dog to visit hospitals, clinics, and the VA.

There was a big void in my life that Kona has filled and then some. I fell in love with her as soon as she walked in the door, and every day when I think I can't love her more, well, there's just a little more there. Kona is about as perfect a dog as a girl can hope for.
