Pet's Story
Hank the Tank turned up on our front porch over a year ago. He was the roughest looking cat you had ever seen, covered in fleas and with several injuries including a huge abscess on his face and a wounded paw. He did not want anything to do with us but he did want food. For several months he would watch us from a distance as we put his food out but would only eat when we left. It took 7 months for him to trust us and one day he just walked up to me and rubbed up against me. He wasn't completely tame but he gradually became more comfortable until we were finally able to trap him and take him to the vet. The Vet thinks he is about 7 years old and probably spent his whole life out on the streets. He unfortunately has Feline HIV but the Vet said he can still live a good life as long as we make sure he gets regular care. Hank still lives on our front porch. He has a heated cat condo and gets two meals a day - in return he brings us mice and snakes. Hopefully this winter we can entice him inside...


Why my pet should win
Hank is a true Nugget. He had a very tough life and now he is the South Park Street Ambassador. He follows us on our dog walks every day. If you walk down Park St you can usually see him lounging in the driveway. Please vote for this formally feral creature, he is the sweetest boy. We wish we could have found him sooner so that he didn't have to spend all those years on the streets.
