What happens when your favorite animal shelter, a beloved local brewery, and a talented local artist come together to support the animals of Douglas County? The annual Lawrence Humane + Lawrence Beer Co. Cutest Crowler Contest!

For the fourth year in a row, we're bringing back the super popular Cutest Crowler Contest! And just like in the past, we'll have two categories – cats and dogs – with the winning animal in each category featured on Lawrence Beer Co.'s crowlers this summer. 

✨We're shaking things up this year by featuring TWO dogs and TWO cats!✨ 

As we've done in the past, the Grand Prize winners will be the one cat and one dog whose entries receive the most votes in their respective categories at the close of the voting period. These animals' images will be illustrated by this year's Crowler Contest Artist, Alec Joler, and will be featured on Lawrence Beer Co. crowlers during the summer of 2025. By getting the most votes for your pet, you will be able to guarantee that they will appear on the LBC crowlers! 

And this year, instead of having a Runner-Up category, we will have a dog and cat raffle so that an additional dog and cat can be featured on the crowlers and EVERYONE has a chance to win!

Every dog entry (other than the Grand Prize winning dog) will be entered into the dog raffle and every cat entry (other than the Grand Prize winning cat) will be entered into the cat raffle. Each entrant gets one spot in their respective raffle so that everyone has an equal and fair chance of winning. The cat and dog entries picked in their respective raffles will ALSO be illustrated by Alec Joler and will appear on Lawrence Beer Co. crowlers during the summer of 2025!

The Cutest Crowler contest ends at 11:59:59 PM (Central Time) on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Participation is easy – just choose your favorite picture of your dog or cat (or the one that shows off their personality best), upload it, and then spread the word to your family, friends, and coworkers, encouraging them to vote for your pet! The entry fee is $5 and each vote is just $1. Stay on top of the competition by watching the Leaderboard and encouraging your community to vote for your pal so they don't fall behind!

About the Artist

This year's Cutest Crowler Contest artist is none other than the super talented and beloved local artist, Alec Joler! Alec is an artist, designer, illustrator, and filmmaker specializing in comics, storyboards, graphic design, and illustration. He is also co-owner of Art of the Groom, a pet salon/art studio, alongside his partner, Chrissy Spencer. Alec has drawn, painted, and illustrated many of the pets who have come to Art of the Groom, as well as many animals who don't need grooming but whose owners wanted a pet portrait by Alec (such as a beloved pet pig)! You can see live-action videos of Alec's illustrations and paintings on Art of the Groom's Instagram and Facebook pages, as well the final beautiful pieces on the wall of Art of the Groom's in-shop gallery!

GRAND PRIZE:

The dog and cat with the highest number of votes in their category when the contest ends will be featured on Lawrence Beer Co.'s crowlers this summer!

And the dog and cat who win their respective category raffles when the contest ends will ALSO be featured on Lawrence Beer Co.'s crowlers this summer!

All four winners' parents will also receive:

• Complimentary registrations for Lawrence Humane's Paw Valley Challenge event in June 
• A Lawrence Humane shirt
• A Lawrence Beer Co. gift card valued at $25
• A framed drawing of their pet by Alec Joler in the artistic style on the crowler
• A complimentary crowler, filled with the beer of their choice
• Bragging rights for having the cutest pets in Douglas County!

Ready to enter your pet's photo? It's easy! Just click on the 'Sign In' button to create an account, then upload a photo and tell us your pet's name. The hardest part is choosing which photo to use!

Once your pet's entry is submitted, be sure to share the contest link with your friends, family, and coworkers and encourage them to vote! Every $1 vote not only helps your pet win, but also supports Douglas County's only animal shelter. So encourage everyone to vote early and vote often!
