Your Pet's Story from his/her perspective
Hi, my name is Addy!
I am a PBGV, (a Petite Basset Griffon Vendeen), better known as a “long-haired basset hound.”
In 2023, one of my “cousins,” named “Buddy Holly,” took ‘best of show’ at the Westminster dog show!

In 2018, when I was two, friend Becky (has a dog like me named “Rancho”) told my mom that I was returned to a breeder & up again for adoption! ( Backstory: I was adopted by an older couple that had recently lost their old PBGV.
Me, being young/mischievous, was too much for them!)

My new “mom-to-be” got on an airplane, rented a car & went there.
Upon arrival, she immediately realized my breeder was physically & verbally abusive to us dogs. She witnessed screaming at & kicking my dad, brothers, & sisters, as well as punching me in the face!
New Mom was mortified, shocked, & furious!
NM paid the breeder, put me in the car, & I let out a huge sigh of relief knowing I was leaving that terrible place!

NM & New Dad have done rescue/fostering for 35+ years. Both say they have never had a dog like me!
They say I am smart, the sweetest/ happiest/cutest dog they’ve ever seen ! We like long walks, kayaking, outdoor dining, & they let me play with tons of toys.
They have many names for me including: sweet pea, cute dog, circus dog, CD, fur face, Wookiee, & cutie butt. I am joyous & grateful!
