Your Pet's Story
Before adoption, MacDermott had a tough life as a stray cat with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a nervous system disorder where his brain failed to develop properly, leading him to have ataxia and intention tremors. Thanks to much support and his rebel spirit, he has wobbled his way through several countries before settling in Canada, charming many with his signature Irish banter. Children’s Hospital and TVCC have a special place in MacDermott’s heart, as without them, his mum would not have received life-saving and continuing complex care along with supportive family services throughout her childhood and teenage years. MacDermott and his family are ardent supporters of community-focused healthcare, and as a disabled cat with many special needs, he’d love to provide representation in an inspirational book for children at the hospital.
