The only thing Kinoko was rescued from was a life of professional handling and dog shows!! And from his lazy perch atop the cushy Tempur-Pedic, he thanks me immensely for that! :-)

Kinoko is a show quality American Akita with champion bloodlines. He was my "gateway drug" though, so far as dogs go. I went from being "not a dog person" (really!) to a bleeding heart desktop networker for a nearby animal shelter, where I am trying to redeem myself by helping save every Akita I possibly can, and many other Asian and/or large breed strays and surrenders as well.

His cutest trick is "High Five," though his "Crazy 'kita" antics when he zooms through the house in a frenzied welcome home routine run a close second.
